Why travel vaccination?

The world is full of interesting places...however, with diverse geographical locations, the flora and fauna also vary posing a threat to people who visit the country/ place for the first time. Vaccinations before travel (read well in advance) are a must to ensure that your immunity remains protected from the likely infections that can happen.

Also, this is a great time to keep your vaccination records in check since vaccinations also have an expiry date. Also, it is essential to understand that preventing diseases through the vaccination is a lifelong process and shield from a certain vaccination may decrease with time. Therefore, it is always advisable to visit our travel health clinic at least six weeks before travelling. This will enable your doctor to review your immunisation history and assure that you are up-to-date on your vaccinations. Many countries need a proof that you have taken a vaccination such as one for Typhoid, Japanese encephalitis or Cholera or some that need additional vaccinations. Also in some countries without such proof, you may be denied entry to the country.
